See a company's announcement the day it's issued, read it in the company's own words and know exactly when it went out. With the Firecrawl connector turned on, Claude can fetch company press releases from Nasdaq.com via Firecrawl Alexandria. For every ticker, Nasdaq.com posts the releases that wires like GlobeNewswire, PR Newswire and Business Wire distribute.
Best for
- Seeing whether a company in your portfolio announced anything after yesterday's close.
- Reading an earnings release, dividend change or delivery update as written by the company, before news outlets reword it.
- Lining up a release's timestamp against a price move to tell which happened first.
Connector and data providers
Connector: the Firecrawl connector. Using it, Claude searches Firecrawl Alexandria and runs the Nasdaq.com tools it finds, each call charged in credits to the team you picked while connecting.
Data providers in Firecrawl Alexandria
| Provider | Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Nasdaq.com | Press releases | Nasdaq.com's release list for a single stock or ETF ticker, latest first, giving title, link, day posted and every ticker tagged. Only the day is listed, without a time. |
| Nasdaq.com | Article | Loads a single release page and returns its complete text along with the precise time stamped on the page. |
| Nasdaq.com | Ticker news | Outside reporting on that ticker from outlets like Zacks and The Motley Fool, useful for comparing coverage with the release. |

Starter prompt
Swap these three tickers for the ones you follow:
Use Firecrawl to pull the five latest Nasdaq.com press releases for MSFT,
TSLA and PFE through Firecrawl Alexandria. Tell me the cost of each tool
before running it.
For every ticker:
- The latest release issued by the company itself: title, day posted, link.
- Open it and report the exact posting time in Eastern time, plus three
bullets on what it announces.
- Point out any release in the list from a different company, including
ones tagged only with this ticker.
Work only from the release text. Copy figures exactly and give no buy or
sell view.Before you start
- Connect the Firecrawl connector. Select Connect on its Claude directory page. A Firecrawl tab opens where you sign in (a free account can be made there), pick a team and allow access. The Firecrawl in Claude guide covers it, and there's no API key or MCP server to configure.
- Turn it on in the chat. Click +, go to Connectors and switch on Firecrawl.
- Give exchange tickers. The release tool expects a ticker written the way Nasdaq.com writes it (MSFT, BRK.B), with an ETF option for funds like SPY.
Limitations of using Claude for company press releases
A release is useful when you read the original soon after it posts. Five obstacles stand in the way.
- The model stops at its cutoff. Each Claude model has a knowledge cutoff, such as June 2026 for Opus 5.5 and January 2026 for Sonnet 5, and Anthropic says models may be unaware of what happened afterward (Anthropic). Without search, a question about this morning's announcement gets an older one, or a made-up one.
- Search finds the write-ups. Web search grounds Claude's replies in live pages with citations, but Anthropic ties the quality of an answer to the sources Claude draws on (Anthropic). For a release, the top hits are often news stories about it or copies reposted elsewhere.
- Search may be unavailable or uneven. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner has to enable web search for the workspace first, and Anthropic says cited links occasionally don't work (Anthropic). News sites also restrict AI crawlers: by late 2023 nearly half (48%) of the top news sites in ten countries had blocked OpenAI's crawlers (Reuters Institute), which narrows what any AI search can read.
- The SEC filing trails the release. A company generally has four business days after a triggering event to file Form 8-K (Investor.gov). When results for a quarter or year are announced, the 8-K has to give the release date and include the release as an exhibit (SEC Form 8-K). By the time the filing shows up the release is old news.
- Invented figures and quotes. Anthropic acknowledges that Claude sometimes gets things wrong and recommends against relying on it "as a singular source of truth," per its help center (Anthropic). In a release summary, a single wrong delivery figure or guidance number changes what the release means.
How it works
Each answer rests on four pieces:
- Firecrawl Alexandria: the place Claude goes for structured data. Its catalog combines 100+ official providers Firecrawl pays for access, public sources like Nasdaq.com and indexes Firecrawl operates for the web, Research, Developer and Government content. Under blind AI judging across 845 tasks, with no change to model or prompts, agents connected to Firecrawl Alexandria earned answer quality ratings 21% above those running only built-in web tools.
- The list of releases: for one ticker, the press release tool returns up to 100 per call, latest first, plus the total available. Every row shows the day posted and the tickers attached.
- The precise time: because the list omits time of day, Claude calls the article tool on the release. It reads the page's "Published" stamp (Oct 7, 2026 4:16pm EDT in one case), converts it to UTC and hands it back alongside the body text.
- Read-only and priced in advance: Claude shows each tool's price before calling it, reads only public pages through your Firecrawl team and modifies nothing.

TSLA. If one posted today, open it and give the posting time, the headline
figures exactly as written and any guidance. Ignore releases not issued by
the company itself. An investor checking holdings weekly wants the complete list minus the clutter:

for MSFT, PFE, KO and JPM. Drop releases from other companies that merely
mention the ticker. Return a short table of ticker, day, title and a
one-line summary. Each prompt sets the tickers, a time range and what to exclude, which keeps Claude to the releases you care about and the reply brief.

Related use cases
- How to get real-time stock news in Claude: the news coverage and price reaction once a company announces something.

- Fiscal.ai filings and earnings dates: check a company's filing dates and its upcoming earnings date with Fiscal.ai, another Firecrawl Alexandria provider.
Coverage limits
- Listed tickers only. The release tool starts from an exchange ticker, so private companies' announcements aren't covered.
- Releases from other issuers. Nasdaq.com tags releases with any ticker they mention. Pulled straight from the API on Oct 9, 2026, Microsoft's list held a promo article that named a handful of chip and cloud stocks, Pfizer's held an Astellas release, and Coca-Cola's held a mining company's release tagged only KO. Have Claude confirm the issuer from the release text and keep the company's own.
- Checked on request. Every prompt reads the list as it stands then. Claude never pushes updates, so "the minute it posts" really means the next time you, or a monitor you've set up in Firecrawl, look.
- No investment advice. Claude reports on the content of each release; buying or selling is your call.
