How do you take a screenshot of a website in Claude using MCP?

The Firecrawl MCP plugin connects Claude to Firecrawl's Scrape API, including its screenshot output format. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants call external tool APIs as built-in capabilities, and the Firecrawl plugin uses it to expose scraping, crawling, search, and screenshot tools directly inside Claude. Once the plugin is installed and your API key is configured, you can ask Claude to take a screenshot of any URL in natural language: Claude calls the Firecrawl API with screenshot format, the page renders in a cloud browser, and the screenshot URL is returned in the conversation with no code required.

Use the Firecrawl MCP plugin in Claude for one-off visual checks, debugging layout issues, or capturing a screenshot as part of a research conversation. Ask Claude to scrape a URL with screenshot format and it handles the API call. For programmatic screenshot pipelines that run on a schedule or outside Claude, use the Firecrawl Python SDK directly.

Install the plugin from the Claude plugin marketplace and run /firecrawl:setup to add your API key. The full setup guide and available plugin commands are covered in the Firecrawl Claude plugin post.
