Search by address, ZIP, applicant, permit type (new building, alteration, raze, demolition, solar, electrical, plumbing), status, square-suffix-lot parcel and issue-date window, newest first, with a cursor that walks back through the years; poll for new permits with issued_since; read one permit by number with every published column (zoning, fees, ward, ANC, police district, business improvement district). DC publishes no valuation, application date, completion date or contractor licence, so those fields are null and contractors lists the permit applicant. Licensed CC BY 4.0: every response and record carries the licence, attribution and source URL.
