See a company's real revenue and profit

Here's how to look up a company's revenue and profit with ChatGPT or Claude: quarterly numbers straight from SEC filings, not a headline.

    Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) sent back, word for word:

    Here are Apple's last 8 reported fiscal quarters. The figures come from the SEC's XBRL company-concept data (CIK 0000320193), which I pulled through Firecrawl Alexandria's sec-gov/filings/concept capability. Apple's fiscal year ends in late September, so fiscal Q1 is the October–December holiday quarter.

    * Apple doesn't file a 10-Q for its fourth quarter, so I calculated Q4 by subtracting the nine-month figure from the full-year 10-K total. For Q4 FY25 that's $416,161M − $313,695M revenue and $112,010M − $84,544M net income. All other rows are reported as-is in the 10-Qs.

    Takeaways:

    • Growth: Revenue in Q3 FY26 was up about 16% year over year and net income about 27%. Q1 FY26 set the record at $143.8B in revenue.
    • Q4 FY24: Net income is unusually low that quarter. From what I remember rather than this data, that's Apple's one-time tax charge of about $10B from the EU State Aid ruling. Excluding it, the margin would be in line with the other quarters.
    • Latest data: Q3 FY26 is the most recent quarter filed (10-Q filed Jul 31, 2026). The FY26 10-K covering Q4 FY26 should come out around the end of October 2026.

    Data used: Revenue is the RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax field and net income is NetIncomeLoss, both in USD. The two lookups cost 10 Alexandria credits.
