What came back
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) sent back, word for word:
Ramp is a New York fintech selling corporate cards plus software for expenses, bill pay, procurement and accounting automation. It has about 2,200 employees and closed a $1.85 billion round last month. I pulled this through Firecrawl Alexandria from Apollo (company, people, job postings) and Fireround (funding).
Company snapshot:
- HQ: 28 West 23rd Street, New York. Founded 2019.
- Headcount: about 2,200, up 37% in 12 months. Engineering (535) and sales (345) are the largest teams.
- Total raised: $4.7 billion across 13 rounds in Fireround. Ramp's own announcement says about $5 billion in equity.
- Latest round: $1.85 billion, announced Oct 15, 2026, led by Avenir Growth, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, Sands Capital and Thrive Capital. Fireround has no valuation for it; the Bloomberg article Apollo links to puts it at $60 billion. Before that: a $750 million Series F at $44 billion in June 2026.
- Hiring: 179 open roles, 51 posted in the last 30 days. By title: 69 sales, solutions and partnerships, 43 engineering, AI and data, 16 customer activation, 9 compliance and credit. 22 are outside the US (London 13, Canada 8, Stockholm 1).
Name Title In role since Eric Glyman Co-Founder, CEO 2019 Karim Atiyeh Co-Founder, CTO 2019 William Petrie Chief Financial Officer Jan 2025 Melissa Montgomery Controller Jul 2025 Ryan Foss VP, Capital, Financial Partnerships and Financial Systems Oct 2026 Hamid Dadkhah Head of Engineering Jun 2026 Work emails for all six are available on request.
Talking points:
- New money, growing team. $2.6 billion raised since June and 37% headcount growth usually mean new teams and budgets. Ask what they're building next.
- Enterprise and international push. They're hiring consultants for Oracle Fusion, SAP S/4HANA and Dynamics 365, plus compliance staff in the UK, Sweden and Canada.
- Product direction in the job titles. Roles for "Token Spend Management", "AI Spend" activation, stablecoins and accounts receivable show where the product is heading.
Limits: Headcount figures are Apollo estimates, and I grouped job titles into teams myself. Apollo's $5.4 billion funding total includes debt, so I used Fireround's. Built In had no Ramp profile, so hiring data is Apollo's only. Eric Glyman's Apollo headline says "Co-CEO", worth confirming. The run cost about 260 credits, 180 of them to reveal the six leaders' names.
