What came back
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) sent back, word for word:
Every campground inside Yosemite is booked for Saturday night, October 24. I checked live site-by-site data for the three main campgrounds (Upper Pines, Hodgdon Meadow and Wawona) and every site is reserved or closed. The search index lists the other park campgrounds as unavailable too.
These sites outside the park are open for Saturday to Sunday (Oct 24–25), checked against live Recreation.gov data:
Option Where Open sites Price/night Notes Silver Lake Campground June Lake, Inyo National Forest. About 41 mi in a straight line, on the east side of the Sierra #039 and #046 $32 Standard sites that take a tent, trailer or RV, rated 4.4★. Only two left. Codorniz Recreation Area Eastman Lake, about 67 mi southwest #03, #05 and #06 (index shows 44 open) $20 Standard sites that take a tent, trailer or RV, rated 4.4★. Plenty of space. Recreation Point Bass Lake, Sierra National Forest, about 15 mi from the South Entrance Group areas only: Lagoon (up to 30 people), Scout, Acorn $239–$397 Closest to the park, but only worth it for a big group. My pick: Silver Lake is the most scenic. But from Yosemite Valley you can only reach it over Tioga Pass (Hwy 120), which often closes for snow in late October. I didn't check whether the pass is open, so look that up first. If it's closed, or you want the easy choice, take Codorniz at Eastman Lake. It's cheap, has plenty of open sites, and is about a 1.5-hour drive to the South Entrance.

The search index also shows Old Shady Rest in Mammoth Lakes (about 26 open sites, $32) and Hidden View at Hensley Lake (about 38 open, $20), but I didn't check those against live data. Popular sites can be taken quickly, so book soon. You can also watch the Yosemite campgrounds for cancellations.
