See what Wall Street analysts say about a stock

Here's how to see what Wall Street analysts say about a stock with ChatGPT or Claude: the consensus rating, buy/hold/sell counts and price targets vs. today's price.

  1. 01

    Add Firecrawl to your AI

Some sources ask you to accept their terms first, in Alexandria in your dashboard.

  2. 02

    Copy the prompt

@Firecrawl What do Wall Street analysts think of Tesla right now? Use Alexandria to show the consensus rating, how many analysts rate it buy, hold or sell, and the average, high and low price targets compared with the current share price.

Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) sent back:

One bullet was reworded after the run: the answer guessed the $24.86 low target came from a bearish analyst, and it now says that target may be a data error.

Analysts lean positive on Tesla, but only just. Benzinga's consensus is a Buy, and the average price target is $420.40, about 5.5% above the last close of $398.50 (Nov 3). I pulled the ratings from Benzinga and the share price from Fiscal.ai through Firecrawl Alexandria.

    • The split is close to even. 9 of 17 analysts say Buy or Strong buy, 7 say Hold and 1 says Sell. Benzinga scores that 3.59 on its 1 to 5 scale, which rounds to Buy but sits not far above Hold.
    • Almost everyone has just updated. 16 of the 17 analysts published a rating or target in the last 30 days, 20 actions in all. Their average target ($424.18) is a little higher than the 90-day figure, so recent changes nudged targets up rather than down.
    • The $24.86 low looks wrong. It's about 94% below the share price and nowhere near any other number here, so it may be a data error rather than a real target. The average and high say more about the group.
    • The stock has already moved toward the average. Tesla closed at $378.73 on Oct 5 and $398.50 on Nov 3, up 5.2%, after dipping to $354.72 on Oct 16.

Limits: Benzinga's firm-by-firm ratings feed (who upgraded or downgraded, and each old and new target) wasn't available on the plan I ran this with, so I can only show the totals, not which firms made each call. The price is the Nov 3 close, pulled before the Nov 4 open. This is a summary of what analysts say, not a recommendation to buy or sell.

I can also pull Tesla's latest quarterly results from Fiscal.ai or run the same check on another stock to compare.
