We did review the order. It was placed through Uber Eats at approximately 12:20 PM, and the pickup time transmitted to our system by Uber Eats was approximately 1:25 PM. Unfortunately, Uber Eats does not always display the same estimated time to the customer, driver, and restaurant. We have reported this issue to Uber Eats multiple times, as we have also had drivers arrive showing us pickup times different from those appearing on our system.

At Sforno, every pizza is stretched, topped, and baked to order. We do not precook pizzas or leave them sitting in boxes waiting for pickup because we want them to leave the oven as fresh as possible. Today was an exceptionally busy service, and when we realized there was confusion regarding your pickup time, our team moved your order ahead in the queue to try to help. Unfortunately, during a very busy service, there is a limit to how quickly we can produce additional pizzas without compromising their quality.

That said, regardless of the Uber Eats timing issue, we are sorry that our communication with you was not better. You should have received a clearer explanation and a more gracious response while you were waiting, and we will address that with our team.

We also encourage you to report the discrepancy in pickup times directly to Uber Eats. We have brought this issue to their attention multiple times, and customer reports may help them better understand and correct the problem.

We’ve only had good experiences until today. Our family had an extremely unpleasant experience today. My wife placed an order for 3 pizzas on Uber Eats a little after 12pm. It stated it should be ready around 12:40. No problem, we walk around the neighborhood and come back a little after the pick up time.

When I arrived, I asked the young lady if our order is ready. She said “ooo” and just walks away with a tag. I’m standing there not knowing what happen so I assumed it’s not ready and wait outside. 1pm rolls around so I walk back into the restaurant but this time I asked the young gentleman if our order is ready. He said no but he will put our order in the front of the line.

I went back outside and wait again. 1:15 rolls around, I get a notification from Uber Eats that my food is ready. Great, I walk to the young gentleman again and show him my screen but he says it’s still not ready. He points to the young lady and she says, “Oo your order says it was supposed to be for 1:30 so it’s not ready.” Not sure how that is possible considering the app doesn’t have a delay pick up option and it notified me that my order was ready at 1:15.

I’m still patiently waiting outside at this point but now I start noticing that people who ordered in person after I showed up to pick up my order is getting their orders before me. There was a family that ordered their food after I arrived and even they commented “you’re still here?!?” after they ate and were leaving.

I go back to the young gentleman at 1:30pm and he says it’s still not ready… at this point my whole family is starving and I just want to leave. I finally pick up my food around 1:45 and in a nice way I told the gentleman that they should fix the Uber Eats communications and he says, “you should tell the owner, she is right here” and walks away.

I didn’t get a “sorry your order took so long”, just mean looks like why are you bothering me. Unfortunately we love supporting local restaurants but the service has gone way down. The pizza is decent but it doesn’t warrant close to a 2 hour wait and terrible service.
