## Capabilities

- [Drug indications](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/molecules/drug_indications): Drug indications ChEMBL records for a molecule and all forms of its parent compound: EFO and MeSH disease terms, the highest phase reached for each indication, and references (ClinicalTrials.gov, DailyMed, FDA, EMA, ATC). Most advanced phase first; min_phase 4 keeps approved indications. Paginated. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- [Get molecule](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/molecules/get_molecule): One ChEMBL molecule by ChEMBL ID, standard InChIKey or ChEMBL compound URL: preferred name, type, max phase, first approval, availability, drug flags (oral, black box warning, first in class, ...), ATC codes, structure (canonical SMILES, InChI, InChIKey), calculated properties (MW, ALogP, PSA, HBA/HBD, rotatable bonds, Ro5 violations, QED), biotherapeutic sequence and HELM for antibodies and proteins, typed synonyms, cross-references, and the mechanisms of action of its parent compound with targets and references. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution; ChEMBL computes the properties with RDKit and ChemAxon software and asks that they not be extracted in isolation to train models that replicate the commercial calculations.
- [Search molecules](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/molecules/search_molecules): Search ChEMBL molecules by name, synonym, trade name or research code (imatinib, Gleevec, STI571, aspirin), ranked by relevance. Each hit has the ChEMBL ID, preferred name, type, max development phase, first approval year, parent compound, canonical SMILES, standard InChIKey, formula, molecular weight and synonyms. Optional min_phase keeps clinical or approved drugs (4). Paginated; ChEMBL search stops at 10,000 hits. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- [Get target](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/targets/get_target): One ChEMBL target by ChEMBL ID or ChEMBL target URL: name, type, organism, taxonomy ID and every component with its UniProt accession, gene symbol and synonyms (gene names, UniProt names, EC numbers); include_xrefs adds each component's PDB, Reactome, GO, InterPro, Pfam and other cross-references. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- [Search targets](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/targets/search_targets): Find ChEMBL drug targets by free text (gene symbol, protein name, e.g. EGFR, cyclooxygenase) or by exact UniProt accession, optionally restricted to an organism (exact name, e.g. Homo sapiens) and target type (SINGLE PROTEIN, PROTEIN COMPLEX, ...). Each target has its ChEMBL ID, name, type, organism, taxonomy ID and components with UniProt accessions and gene symbols. Paginated. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- [List activities](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/activities/list_activities): Bioactivity measurements from ChEMBL for a molecule, a parent compound with all its salt forms, a target, or a molecule-target pair: standard type (IC50, Ki, Kd, EC50, ...), relation, value and units, pChEMBL value, assay (ChEMBL ID, type, description, variant mutation), target, ligand efficiency, data-validity flags and source document. Filters: standard_type, min_pchembl, assay_type, target_organism. sort potency returns the most potent first (rows with a pChEMBL value only). Paginated. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.

### Get molecule

- Capability: `molecules/get_molecule`
- Description: One ChEMBL molecule by ChEMBL ID, standard InChIKey or ChEMBL compound URL: preferred name, type, max phase, first approval, availability, drug flags (oral, black box warning, first in class, ...), ATC codes, structure (canonical SMILES, InChI, InChIKey), calculated properties (MW, ALogP, PSA, HBA/HBD, rotatable bonds, Ro5 violations, QED), biotherapeutic sequence and HELM for antibodies and proteins, typed synonyms, cross-references, and the mechanisms of action of its parent compound with targets and references. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution; ChEMBL computes the properties with RDKit and ChemAxon software and asks that they not be extracted in isolation to train models that replicate the commercial calculations.
- Instructions: Read a compound or drug once you have its ChEMBL ID (from search_molecules) or an InChIKey from another database. Mechanism target_chembl_id values feed get_target and list_activities.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [Get molecule](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/molecules/get_molecule)

Accepted options:
- `chembl_id` (string): Molecule ChEMBL ID, e.g. CHEMBL941 (imatinib). Pattern: ^CHEMBL[0-9]{1,12}$. Example: `<chembl_id>`
- `inchi_key` (string): Standard InChIKey, e.g. KTUFNOKKBVMGRW-UHFFFAOYSA-N. Pattern: ^[A-Z]{14}-[A-Z]{10}-[A-Z]$. Example: `<inchi_key>`
- `url` (string): ChEMBL compound page, e.g. https://www.ebi.ac.uk/chembl/explore/compound/CHEMBL941. Example: `<url>`

- Description: Search ChEMBL molecules by name, synonym, trade name or research code (imatinib, Gleevec, STI571, aspirin), ranked by relevance. Each hit has the ChEMBL ID, preferred name, type, max development phase, first approval year, parent compound, canonical SMILES, standard InChIKey, formula, molecular weight and synonyms. Optional min_phase keeps clinical or approved drugs (4). Paginated; ChEMBL search stops at 10,000 hits. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- Instructions: Start here to turn a drug or compound name into a ChEMBL ID for get_molecule, drug_indications or list_activities. Salts are separate molecules (imatinib CHEMBL941, imatinib mesylate CHEMBL1642) sharing parent_chembl_id.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [Search molecules](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/molecules/search_molecules)

Accepted options:
- `cursor` (string): next_cursor from the previous page of the same request. Pattern: ^[0-9]{1,8}$. Example: `<cursor>`
- `limit` (number): limit Example: `10`
- `min_phase` (number): Only molecules whose max_phase is at least this: 4 approved, 3/2/1 clinical, 0.5 early phase 1. Example: `0.5`
- `query` (string, required): Name, synonym, trade name or research code. Example: `<query>`

### Get target

- Capability: `targets/get_target`
- Description: One ChEMBL target by ChEMBL ID or ChEMBL target URL: name, type, organism, taxonomy ID and every component with its UniProt accession, gene symbol and synonyms (gene names, UniProt names, EC numbers); include_xrefs adds each component's PDB, Reactome, GO, InterPro, Pfam and other cross-references. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- Instructions: Read a target found through search_targets or a mechanism of action; then list_activities with its target_chembl_id for the compounds measured against it.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [Get target](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/targets/get_target)

Accepted options:
- `chembl_id` (string): Target ChEMBL ID, e.g. CHEMBL203 (EGFR). Pattern: ^CHEMBL[0-9]{1,12}$. Example: `<chembl_id>`
- `include_xrefs` (boolean): Add component cross-references (hundreds for well-studied proteins). Example: `false`
- `url` (string): ChEMBL target page, e.g. https://www.ebi.ac.uk/chembl/explore/target/CHEMBL203. Example: `<url>`

### Search targets

- Capability: `targets/search_targets`
- Description: Find ChEMBL drug targets by free text (gene symbol, protein name, e.g.
- Instructions: Turn a gene, protein or UniProt accession into ChEMBL target IDs for get_target and list_activities. One protein usually maps to a SINGLE PROTEIN target plus complexes, families and protein-protein interaction targets that contain it.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [Search targets](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/targets/search_targets)

Accepted options:
- `cursor` (string): next_cursor from the previous page of the same request. Pattern: ^[0-9]{1,8}$. Example: `<cursor>`
- `limit` (number): limit Example: `10`
- `organism` (string): Exact organism name as ChEMBL stores it, case-sensitive, e.g. Homo sapiens. Example: `<organism>`
- `query` (string): Gene symbol, protein or target name. Example: `<query>`
- `target_type` (string): ChEMBL target type, e.g. SINGLE PROTEIN, PROTEIN COMPLEX, PROTEIN FAMILY. Pattern: ^[A-Za-z][A-Za-z -]{1,40}$. Example: `<target_type>`
- `uniprot_accession` (string): UniProt accession, e.g. P00533 (EGFR); returns every target with that component. Pattern: ^([OPQ][0-9][A-Z0-9]{3}[0-9]|[A-NR-Z][0-9]([A-Z][A-Z0-9]{2}[0-9]){1,2})$. Example: `<uniprot_accession>`

### List activities

- Capability: `activities/list_activities`
- Description: Bioactivity measurements from ChEMBL for a molecule, a parent compound with all its salt forms, a target, or a molecule-target pair: standard type (IC50, Ki, Kd, EC50, ...), relation, value and units, pChEMBL value, assay (ChEMBL ID, type, description, variant mutation), target, ligand efficiency, data-validity flags and source document. Filters: standard_type, min_pchembl, assay_type, target_organism. sort potency returns the most potent first (rows with a pChEMBL value only). Paginated. Data CC BY-SA 3.0 with attribution.
- Instructions: Potency and SAR data: how strongly a compound hits a target, or which compounds are most potent against a target. Get IDs from search_molecules / search_targets first.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [List activities](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/ebi-ac-uk/activities/list_activities)

Accepted options:
- `assay_type` (string): B binding, F functional, A ADME, T toxicity, P physicochemical, U unclassified. Example: `B`
- `cursor` (string): next_cursor from the previous page of the same request. Pattern: ^[0-9]{1,8}$. Example: `<cursor>`
- `limit` (number): limit Example: `20`
- `min_pchembl` (number): Only rows with pchembl_value at least this (6 = 1 uM, 9 = 1 nM). Example: `10`
- `molecule_chembl_id` (string): Measurements recorded on exactly this molecule form. Pattern: ^CHEMBL[0-9]{1,12}$. Example: `<molecule_chembl_id>`
- `parent_molecule_chembl_id` (string): Measurements on a parent compound and all its salts and forms (parent_chembl_id from get_molecule). Pattern: ^CHEMBL[0-9]{1,12}$. Example: `<parent_molecule_chembl_id>`
- `sort` (string): activity_id (stable record order) or potency (highest pChEMBL first; rows without one are excluded). Example: `activity_id`
- `standard_type` (string): Endpoint, e.g. IC50, Ki, Kd, EC50, Potency, Inhibition (common ones are case-insensitive). Pattern: ^[A-Za-z0-9][A-Za-z0-9 ()%/._+'-]{0,39}$. Example: `<standard_type>`
- `target_chembl_id` (string): Target ChEMBL ID, e.g. CHEMBL203. Pattern: ^CHEMBL[0-9]{1,12}$. Example: `<target_chembl_id>`
- `target_organism` (string): Exact target organism, case-sensitive, e.g. Homo sapiens. Example: `<target_organism>`
