## Capabilities

- [Search](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/data-chhs-ca-gov/wac-increases/search): Manufacturer-reported wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) increases for prescription drugs, from California HCAI's CTRx reports: per NDC, the WAC effective date, increase amount and WAC after it, the derived WAC before, percent increase and the statute's three-year percent increase, patent expiry, drug source type, sales, the manufacturer's stated cost increase factors and changes or improvements, acquisition details, and the five-year WAC history behind each report. Filter by drug, manufacturer, NDC, effective date, minimum percent increase and Brand or Generic; one year's file per call (the current year to date by default, annual files back to 2019). No match is an empty result.
- [Launch search](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/data-chhs-ca-gov/drug-launches/launch_search): New prescription drugs introduced to market at a WAC above the Medicare Part D specialty-drug threshold, as manufacturers reported them to California HCAI (CTRx): per NDC, the introduction date, WAC at introduction, the manufacturer's marketing and pricing plan, estimated number of patients, FDA breakthrough therapy and priority review flags, and acquisition details. Filter by drug, manufacturer, NDC, introduction date, minimum WAC, Brand or Generic and the two FDA flags; one year's file per call (the current year to date by default, annual files back to 2019). No match is an empty result.

## 2. Minimal request

Call `POST https://api.firecrawl.dev/v2/scrape` with `{ alexandria: { provider, capability, options } }`. For a batch, send `{ alexandria: [...] }` with up to 10 calls.

```json
{
  "provider": "data-chhs-ca-gov",
  "capability": "wac-increases/search",
  "options": {
    "limit": 10,
    "min_increase_percent": 16,
    "sort": "increase_percent_desc"
  }
}
```

## 3. Add provider options

Use only the options needed for the task:

- `drug` (string): Drug product description to match, case-insensitively anywhere in it: a brand (`skyrizi`, `Fyarro`), an ingredient as the manufacturer wrote it, a strength or a package form. Example: `<drug>`
- `drug_category` (string): Brand or Generic, as the manufacturer classified the drug. Only the current year's monthly file reports it; with an annual year this is invalid_input. Example: `Brand`
- `effective_from` (string): Only increases whose WAC effective date is on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Pattern: ^[0-9]{4}-[0-9]{2}-[0-9]{2}$. Example: `<effective_from>`
- `effective_to` (string): Only increases whose WAC effective date is on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Pattern: ^[0-9]{4}-[0-9]{2}-[0-9]{2}$. Example: `<effective_to>`
- `include_history` (boolean): Read the year's five-year WAC history file and attach each report's WAC changes (`history`) and the derived `three_year_increase_percent`. Defaults to true when `drug` or `ndc` is given, false otherwise. Example: `false`
- `limit` (number): Reports per page. Example: `25`
- `manufacturer` (string): Manufacturer name to match, case-insensitively anywhere in it: `AbbVie`, `pfizer`, `Teva`. Example: `<manufacturer>`
- `min_increase_percent` (number): Only increases of at least this percent over the WAC just before them (`increase_percent`, derived). The statute measures against the WAC three years earlier instead (`three_year_increase_percent`). Example: `10`
- `ndc` (string): An NDC-11 as 11 digits (`80803015350`) or hyphenated 5-4-2 (`80803-0153-50`), a hyphenated 10-digit NDC (`0074-2100-01`, 4-4-2, 5-3-2 or 5-4-1, padded to 5-4-2), or an NDC-9 product code (`80803-0153`, `808030153`) matching all its packages. A bare 10-digit NDC is ambiguous and rejected. Example: `80803015350`
- `offset` (number): Reports to skip; pass `next_offset` from the previous page. Example: `0`
- `sort` (string): Order of results: latest WAC effective date first (default), or largest `increase_percent` first. Example: `effective_date_desc`
- `year` (number): Calendar year of the report file to read: the current year reads HCAI's monthly update (the year to date), earlier years their Q1-Q4 annual file. Defaults to the latest year published. A year without a file is invalid_input listing the years available. HCAI's 2020 annual WAC increase file is published with its rows out of line with its header (no row's prices match its own five-year history), so 2020 is not served and is invalid_input like a year without a file. Example: `2019`

## API reference-derived contract

The following capability contract is generated from the same normalized Alexandria API reference exposed in the API spec.

### Search

- Capability: `wac-increases/search`
- Description: Manufacturer-reported wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) increases for prescription drugs, from California HCAI's CTRx reports: per NDC, the WAC effective date, increase amount and WAC after it, the derived WAC before, percent increase and the statute's three-year percent increase, patent expiry, drug source type, sales, the manufacturer's stated cost increase factors and changes or improvements, acquisition details, and the five-year WAC history behind each report. Filter by drug, manufacturer, NDC, effective date, minimum percent increase and Brand or Generic; one year's file per call (the current year to date by default, annual files back to 2019). No match is an empty result.
- Instructions: Pick it for list price (WAC) increases manufacturers reported to California and the reasons they gave: "which drugs rose more than 16% this year", "how much did AbbVie raise Skyrizi's WAC and how has it moved over five years", "what did the manufacturer say drove this increase". It covers only reported increases (those over California's threshold, and some below it), not a full WAC price list; a drug without a report has no row. For launch prices of new drugs use drug-launches/launch_search. For Medicare Part B payment limits use cms-gov asp-pricing/payment_limits; for what pharmacies pay (NADAC) use data-medicaid-gov prices/search.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [Search](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/data-chhs-ca-gov/wac-increases/search)

Accepted options:

### Launch search

- Capability: `drug-launches/launch_search`
- Description: New prescription drugs introduced to market at a WAC above the Medicare Part D specialty-drug threshold, as manufacturers reported them to California HCAI (CTRx): per NDC, the introduction date, WAC at introduction, the manufacturer's marketing and pricing plan, estimated number of patients, FDA breakthrough therapy and priority review flags, and acquisition details. Filter by drug, manufacturer, NDC, introduction date, minimum WAC, Brand or Generic and the two FDA flags; one year's file per call (the current year to date by default, annual files back to 2019). No match is an empty result.
- Instructions: Pick it for launch prices of new specialty-priced drugs and how manufacturers say they will market and price them: "which drugs launched in 2026 above the Part D specialty threshold and at what WAC", "which 2025 launches had breakthrough therapy designation", "the most expensive launches of 2025". Drugs launched below the threshold are not reported. For later list price increases of a drug use wac-increases/search.
- Cost: 5 credits per call
- Capability file: [Launch search](https://firecrawl.dev/alexandria/agents/providers/data-chhs-ca-gov/drug-launches/launch_search)

Accepted options:
- `breakthrough_therapy` (boolean): true: only drugs with FDA breakthrough therapy designation; false: only drugs without it. Example: `false`
- `introduced_from` (string): Only drugs introduced to market on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Pattern: ^[0-9]{4}-[0-9]{2}-[0-9]{2}$. Example: `<introduced_from>`
- `introduced_to` (string): Only drugs introduced to market on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Pattern: ^[0-9]{4}-[0-9]{2}-[0-9]{2}$. Example: `<introduced_to>`
- `limit` (number): Drugs per page. Example: `25`
- `manufacturer` (string): Manufacturer name to match, case-insensitively anywhere in it: `AbbVie`, `pfizer`, `Teva`. Example: `<manufacturer>`
- `min_wac` (number): Only drugs whose WAC at introduction is at least this many USD.
- `offset` (number): Drugs to skip; pass `next_offset` from the previous page. Example: `0`
- `priority_review` (boolean): true: only drugs that had FDA priority review; false: only drugs without it. Example: `false`
- `sort` (string): Order of results: latest introduction first (default), or highest WAC at introduction first. Example: `introduced_date_desc`
- `year` (number): Calendar year of the report file to read: the current year reads HCAI's monthly update (the year to date), earlier years their Q1-Q4 annual file. Defaults to the latest year published. A year without a file is invalid_input listing the years available. Example: `2019`

Educational efforts will focus on the reduction in the number of new heterotopic ossification lesions and in HO volume at week 56 versus placebo, along with the reduction in clinician-assessed flare-ups, with a safety profile characterized in the Phase 3 OPTIMA trial. Awareness activities will also address the once-monthly intravenous dosing regimen, administered in the clinic or in the home. These activities will be conducted through physician-focused product and disease education websites, other digital media, print media, congress presence and peer-to-peer scientific exchange, and use of sales representatives to promote the FDA-approved indication in adults. Anticipated direct-to-consumer marketing activities include a consumer-focused product website, other digital media, and patient support program materials describing infusion, nursing, and reimbursement services. Pricing \nRegeneron approaches pricing with fairness, affordability and access at the forefront. Our pricing philosophy is guided by several principles. \n\nFirst, medicines should be priced fairly. We take a value-based pricing approach that reflects their benefit to patients, society and the healthcare system. We consider the long-term investment and risk inherent in science and technology innovation, which is required to bring novel medicines to patients. \n\nSecond, medicines are only useful if patients in need can access and afford them. We are committed to supporting patients’ access by providing financial assistance for eligible patients.\n\nThird, our growth is driven by scientific innovation, not pricing. Any price changes Regeneron makes is designed to keep pace with the medicine’s value and our costs, and in careful consideration of commercial competitiveness.\n\nRegeneron also seeks to work collaboratively with other stakeholders in the healthcare system and welcome their input on fair and cost-effective pricing. These principles taken together help to ensure advancing our goal of setting fair, value-based prices for our medicines and breaking down barriers to patient access.",

Key aspects of our consumer marketing approach include but are not limited to a focus on awareness and diagnosis, targeted digital outreach, hiring and training of patient navigators, online education tools and collaboration with advocacy groups. We have also designed and share information concerning a comprehensive patient and HCP support program that facilitates access to our product. The program includes reimbursement support, affordability programs, and patient education resources. Our customer-facing strategy has been informed by insights gathered from potential prescribers of our product through market research, focus groups, and advisory boards.
